The class was shown an interview with Imelda Marcos for the topic Science and Politics, on how she supposedly affected the technology in the Philippines during her husband's time. It was about her projects that supposedly better the lives of Filipinos. It showed her concepts, her way of thinking and philosophies in life. It was a real frustrating insight into her mind. It showed that she never realized her mistakes. She never showed remorse in the entire interview. She felt that she was the victim, that everyone else betrayed her and she does not understand why. It was frustrating to know that she did not feel even a tad bit guilty about the sufferings they have caused the Filipinos. She felt that every move and projects are justified. That her lavish spending are for the people, that she serves them by representing them lavishly even though the poor kept suffering. What is even more frustrating is that she believes herself to be saintly, that all she has done God would approve of, even built herself a shrine. What she had done for the Filipinos is covered up the sufferings. Every project was rushed to show quick results. Stability of structures were not considered. They simply covered up the ugly state of the country with quick substantial solutions, and yet she spent so much time, money and even lives to satisfy her lavish lifestyle. And still she maintains that she did nothing wrong, not a single thing.
