Trip to the Moon

by John Jason B. Santillan
     2013-03535

I like that it tries to open a sensitive topic in science at that time i.e. extra-terrestrial life. The emphasis it gave on the construction of the rocket symbolized the hurdles and difficulties that scientists had to overcome for years. Any viewer at that time would have had their curiosity and excitement boosted in anticipation for the actual landing. I liked how they attempted to illustrate the loneliness and barrenness of the moon. Viewers would also have been entertained by the creative portrayal of aliens and their behavior. The only thing that I didn't like is the message being forwarded when they fought aliens. It contributed to the idea that inevetably we would have to fight against species outside earth and that tension between is guaranteed. Overall, I think the film was well-made.
