"No man is an island"
It is said that a man will survive his life without a companion. For me, an individual is as important as an institution. Both should work together to be able to survive.
In the movie, it seemed that the actor did not have the time to do the things he wants because of external factors like his work and family duties. However, as a disaster took place (taking the life of everyone on Earth), he finally got what he always wanted to do, to read.
It is said that one cannot always get what he wants. And I think this is the moral of the story. The protagonist's intention were all personal, one thing that led to his misery. Without anyone to help him when he broke his eyeglasses, he realized the real importance of his companions. Without anyone or without something, he is helpless. But beyond this, I think the movie wants us to realize how important people and that we should treasure our moments with them.
Even if you are the man with all the time in the world, if you do not have anyone to share it with, life becomes boring and useless.
